Director of Managed Care Contracting

This position will research, develop, plan and implement innovative managed care strategies that maximize success in managed care. The Director of Managed Care will be responsible for evaluating, negotiating and monitoring contracts for services rendered by physician owned healthcare practices with a wide variety of commercial and managed care organizations. This individual will manage the overall contracting process including price negotiation, contract implementation, escalator maintenance, and communication to billing department groups. In addition, the Director of Managed Care will resolve complex operational issues by communicating directly with counterparts at commercial and managed care organizations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Works independently to negotiate and write contracts with a wide variety of commercial and managed care organizations. Experience with value based and bundled reimbursement arrangements. Experience with contracting for ASCs.
  • Serves as a subject matter specialist and consultant to operations and development with respect to pricing managed care markets and activities therein.
  • Responsible for development, interpretation, implementation and maintenance of contracts.
  • Establishes rapport and maintains working relationships with current and potential managed care organizations.
  • Drives the overall managed care contracting process, including distributions, updates to contract rates, maintenance of electronic contract files and rate databases feeding reimbursement systems.
  • Executes fee schedule and contract analysis through usage of the reimbursement system, strong excel and other analytical skills. Manages appeals process.
  • Assembles data and provides reports, conducts research as necessary and remains abreast of current and emerging issues related to national, state and local health care market, contracting practices, and/or government rules and regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 to 7 years’ minimum experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of this position
  • CPAR – Certified Patient Account Representative Preferred
  • Strong background and understanding of Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act
  • Strong background and understanding of network billing and billing legislation
  • Strong background in and ability to aggressively negotiate managed care and commercial contracts

The General Counsel will be responsible for leading corporate strategic and tactical legal initiatives, will provide senior management with effective advice on company strategies and their implementation, manages the legal function, and obtains and oversees the work of outside counsel. The general counsel is directly involved in complex business transactions in negotiating critical contracts.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Participates in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and programs and provides continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters and on legal implications of all matters.
  2. Serves as key lawyer/legal advisor on all major business transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures.
  3. Judges the merits of major court cases filed against or on behalf of the company, works with the appropriate executive(s) to define a strategic defense and approves settlements of disputes where warranted.
  4. Assumes ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the company conducts its business in compliance with applicable SEC et al. laws and regulations.
  5. Structures and manages the company’s internal legal function and staff.
  6. Oversees the selection, retention, management and evaluation of all outside counsel.
  7. Advises on legal aspects of the company’s financing, including assessing and advising on current and future business structures and legal entities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor Degree with experience in health care law and business.
  • Member in good standing of the Georgia State Bar or eligible to obtain.
  • Five (5) years’ experience practicing law, with minimum two (2) years in healthcare with significant experience counseling executive management regarding business law and regulated transactions.
  • Experience working on matters of corporate governance and with a board of directors.
  • Familiarity with information technology, clinical procedures, medical malpractice, intellectual property, credentialing, and real estate transactions is helpful.
  • Superior people management skills.
  • Strong written and oral interpersonal and communication skills.

Part Time Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

OrthoAtlanta is expanding its services to include afterhours Orthopedic urgent care at many of its locations. These afterhours clinics will be staffed by Midlevel Providers.

As a Physician Assistant at one of our OrthoQUICK locations you will treat urgent conditions like: acute pain, suspected fractures or dislocations, strains and sprains, sports related injuries, tendonitis and bursitis and work related injuries. The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the clinic physicians to ensure continuity of care for the patients.

Only experienced Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners will be considered. Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care environment. Candidates should be flexible and have a strong desire to work both independently and as a team member. Excellent assessment skills and a strong work ethic are required. This is a part time non-benefited position.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field. Master’s in Healthcare or Business preferred.

As the X-Ray Technician at one of our OrthoQUICK locations you be responsible for preparing patients for x-rays and educate them on the process, taking X-Rays of patients as directed, maintaining X-Ray equipment and maintenance schedule, and maintaining inventory and other x-ray supplies. The X-Ray Tech will contribute to the morale and success of the office by service, teamwork, integrity, professionalism, compassion, respect, improvement and innovation of operations and a balance and commitment to work and family. This position requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a course in radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and a current certification (AART) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. One year of experience as a radiologic technologist is preferred. This individual must be able to work independently and have excellent customer service skills.
