Biography
Todd Schmidt, M.D., is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is an American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Fellow. Dr. Schmidt is fellowship trained in both shoulder surgery and sports medicine. Dr. Schmidt is a founding member of OrthoAtlanta. His practice includes orthopedic surgery with a special interest in sports medicine, shoulder, hip and knee disorders, fracture care and arthritic joint reconstruction. He has been an innovator in the use of computer-assisted surgery in joint replacement and in the treatment of young adult hip disorders including the use of arthroscopic methods. Dr. Schmidt is a member of the Piedmont Henry, Piedmont Fayette and Piedmont Atlanta Medical Staffs.

Community Involvement
Dr. Schmidt is a founding member of OrthoAtlanta. He is a member of the Piedmont Henry, Piedmont Fayette and Piedmont Atlanta Medical Staffs. Dr. Schmidt served on the Epic Physician Advisory Panel for Piedmont Healthcare. He is Past Chief of the Medical Staff of Piedmont Henry Hospital and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Board of Councilors. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Orthopedic Society, the IntraHealth Group, the OrthoForum Insurance Company and Piedmont Henry Hospital and is the current Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Piedmont Healthcare.
Dr. Schmidt is a past physician of the USA Olympic Sports Medicine Association, The Atlanta Falcons medical staff and is the Medical Director for the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game held annually in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Schmidt also served as the Medical Director for the Atlanta Football Host Committee (AFHC) for the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship. Dr. Schmidt was honored to serve as the Medical Honoree of the 2018 Atlanta Walk to Cure Arthritis. In addition, he continues his relationship providing Sports Medicine care for high school athletes in Henry county.
