Biography
Santiago Rodriguez, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. He provides comprehensive care for conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, serving patients at our Snellville, Georgia location.
Dr. Rodriguez’s areas of expertise include hand and upper extremity surgery, arthritis, sports injuries, microsurgery, and wide-awake hand surgery. His clinical interests encompass wrist and elbow arthroscopy and reconstruction, shoulder surgery, nerve repair and reconstruction, tendon repair and transfers, carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes, diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound, CMC arthroplasty, treatment of Dupuytren’s disease, and both adult and pediatric fracture care involving the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, and shoulder.
Dr. Rodriguez is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and holds current BLS and ACLS certifications. His practice integrates advanced diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound technologies to enhance precision and patient outcomes. In recognition of his contributions to patient care and surgical excellence, Dr. Rodriguez received the Clinical Excellence Award from Sentara Leigh Hospital in May 2024 for his outstanding service to the Ambulatory Surgery Team.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Rodriguez is passionate about patient education and empowering individuals to actively participate in their recovery and long-term health.
Dr. Rodriguez earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine after completing his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Miami. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut, followed by a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
