Bruce M. Byrd, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement, including primary and revision joint replacement surgery. He has a special interest in minimally invasive techniques and robotic-assisted joint replacement, allowing patients to benefit from greater precision, improved outcomes, and a faster recovery.

A Middle Georgia native, Dr. Byrd is passionate about bringing advanced orthopedic care back to the community that inspired him to pursue medicine. Growing up in a small Georgia town, he witnessed the importance of having access to quality healthcare close to home. Those experiences, along with seeing friends and family members rely on orthopedic care, shaped his commitment to serving patients with compassion, empathy, and the latest advancements in joint replacement surgery.

Dr. Byrd believes successful patient care is built on teamwork. He partners closely with each patient, as well as the care teams at OrthoAtlanta and Piedmont, to develop personalized treatment plans that help patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and return to the activities they enjoy. His philosophy is simple: every patient deserves timely, compassionate care delivered with the most advanced technology available.
