Biography
Dr. Crellin is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon fellowship-trained in sports medicine and advanced arthroscopy. He specializes in the treatment of complex sports- and work-related injuries of the shoulder, knee, elbow, hip, ankle, hand, and foot, with particular expertise in cartilage restoration procedures and novel orthobiologic therapies. While highly skilled in surgery, Dr. Crellin emphasizes nonoperative management as a first-line approach whenever possible.
His passion for orthopedics began in high school after sustaining a soccer injury and being inspired by the skill and compassion of his treating surgeon. Dr. Crellin earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine with honors from Marietta College, where he also obtained his Athletic Trainer’s License. He completed medical school at Ohio University, residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and fellowship training in Sports Medicine/Advanced Arthroscopy at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Crellin has been in practice for more than 20 years in the greater Cincinnati area, where he built a large and respected practice known for both his surgical expertise and his strong patient-physician relationships. He is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine, and has served as a national board examiner and question writer for orthopedic and sports subspecialty boards.
