Outshine Frozen Fruit Bars Recalled Over Possible Glass Contamination

WEDNESDAY, Aug. 19, 2026 (HealthDay News) — Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc. is recalling several kinds of Outshine Fruit Bars because they may contain pieces of glass.

The voluntary recall covers Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine and Black Cherry 6-count boxes of 2.5-ounce bars. The Outshine 24-count Variety Pack of 2.5-ounce bars is also affected.

The bars were shipped to stores across the country.

Dreyer's said it pulled the products after shoppers reported finding glass in them. No illnesses or injuries have been reported so far.

"The safety, quality and integrity of our products remain our highest priority," the company said in its announcement.

No other Outshine products or flavors are part of the recall.

To check a box at home, look at the batch code and best-before date printed on the bottom of the package. Best-before dates on the recalled lots range from May 31, 2027, through Nov. 30, 2027.

Consumers can view the full list of roughly 60 recalled batch codes and six UPC codes on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website.

Anyone who has the recalled bars should throw them out or take them back to the store for a full refund.

The company said people who think they may have been hurt after eating one of the bars should call a healthcare provider right away.

Shoppers with questions can reach Dreyer's customer service at 800-392-4885 from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
